Managing a firm during lockdown | The Law Society
We were delighted to write for The Law Society; Peter Taylor, our managing partner shares his experience of managing a firm during lockdown while shielding.
At the start of the pandemic, Peter was placed in the extremely vulnerable category, having undergone a kidney transplant 17 years ago. In managing a team of 260 through this pandemic remotely, the priority was the health and wellbeing of staff.
It boiled down to communication – open and honest sharing; that combined with a positive approach were so important in keeping the whole firm going. Talking of his approach to leadership, Peter noted, “I have always been open and honest as to the reality of the firm’s position at any time and how I was thinking. It has always served me well and enabled me to sleep easier at night.”
