Back by popular demand, the Paris Smith Employment team is all set to demonstrate a mock tribunal case in action on 13 February 2019. Places for this event are limited so please do book in advance to secure a space.
Due to the rise in the number of employment tribunal claims being brought, we understand that the likelihood of facing a Tribunal claim is a real and daunting prospect for many employers.
According to recent Ministry of Justice published statistics, the total number of employment tribunal claims lodged tripled in the three months between April and June 2018. When compared with the same period in 2017, this shows that the number of receipts for single claims has more than doubled.
This training event is a great opportunity to observe what it is like to be examined and cross-examined, to present a case persuasively, and to present relevant evidence to a tribunal judge.
This interaction session will include:
- practical tips on tribunal etiquette, including how to address the tribunal;
- understanding how an employment tribunal is conducted and who will be on the panel;
- guidance on presenting witness evidence and cross examination;
- exploring the strengths and weaknesses’ of each party’s case;
- delivering closing submissions;
- the judge’s decision
The session has been specifically designed for anyone with staff management responsibilities, including HR specialists, line managers and those involved in representing staff at formal hearings. All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance for their participation in the training.
Members of Paris Smith’s Employment team will also be on hand throughout the session to answer any specific questions that you may have.
There will be a short break and refreshments during the session.
