Our Planning Team have strengthened with the additions of Nick Hollands and Peter Kershaw
Paris Smith LLP are delighted to announce the further strengthening of its Commercial Property and Planning Department with the arrival of Nick Hollands and Peter Kershaw to their Planning consultancy team. Their acquisition to the firm’s Planning team further highlights the consultancy’s growing expertise and prominence in the Region.
Nick Hollands brings to Paris Smith a wealth of experience of managing development proposals through all aspects of the planning system. Nick has extensive experience appearing at public inquiries and development plan examinations as an expert planning witness and deals with major planning applications. Nick has, for example, recently achieved substantial reductions of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) charging rate for retail developments for the Merry Hill Shopping Centre in the West Midlands and has prepared planning evidence in connection with the now approved Development Consent Order application for the Thames Tideway Tunnel.
Peter Kershaw’s arrival enables the Paris Smith Planning consultancy to add public relations and public affairs to their impressive breadth of expertise – skills which are increasingly important in a complex and changing environment where strong and persuasive arguments are vital in ensuring that clients’ planning proposals are positively and properly understood by decision makers. Peter will continue to build on his solid skills of advising clients; having worked as a Senior Caseworker for a Member of Parliament and Minister of State, and in local authority as a planner within the Major Applications and Project Implementation Teams (which for example dealt with the multi million pound Swan Centre leisure/cinema development).
