Paris Smith Champions Apprenticeships for National Apprenticeship Week 2024
Paris Smith is proud to support National Apprenticeship Week 2024, reaffirming its commitment to developing young talent in the legal sector. The firm welcomes two new apprentices, Francesca Hatton and Sam Panayides, as it spearheads an initiative to foster a vibrant and diverse workforce.
With apprenticeship programmes receiving national acclaim for their role in shaping the future workforce, Paris Smith’s investment in apprenticeship demonstrates both the firm’s support for local talent and its dedication to nurturing individual aspirations in the legal field.
“Apprentice schemes are a crucial element in our strategy for growth, as well as actively recognising the importance of diversity in the business,” said Peter Taylor, Senior Partner. “We’re thrilled to welcome Francesca and Sam and look forward to supporting their development in the years to come. At the heart of our purpose as a firm is a drive to enable all in the business to thrive and be the best versions of themselves”.
The firm’s apprenticeship scheme is tailored to provide meaningful experiences, extensive learning opportunities, and practical skills for future legal professionals. Francesca Hatton has started in the Family department, where she will embark on a structured training programme. Sam Panayides has begun his journey in Business Development, learning the ropes of business management and employer liaison.
“We’re excited to start our apprenticeship journey at Paris Smith,” said Francesca. “Seeing a firm not just talk about diversity, but actively create pathways for individuals like me, is truly inspiring.”
Sam, equally enthusiastic about the apprenticeship program, added, “I’m eager to delve into the intricacies of Business Development and contribute to a dynamic team. Paris Smith’s commitment to investing in apprentices like me is a game-changer for our start in the legal sector.”
National Apprenticeship Week is an annual celebration, highlighting the positive impact apprentices have on business and society, and the career opportunities available for individuals through apprenticeship pathways. It also aims to motivate more employers to take on apprentices and commit to workforce diversity.
Paris Smith’s championing of diversity and apprenticeship programmes aligns with the spirit of fostering an inclusive and dynamic legal community. The firm believes that by investing in the younger generation, not only do they sow the seeds for the future, but they also reap the benefits of fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a well-trained, loyal workforce.
