Paris Smith flying high in Legal 500 write up

We are delighted this year to have achieved another very strong performance in the respected legal directory Legal 500.

Our family team remain at the top of their game; the team “has a longstanding presence in the region, and is distinguished by the combined presence of its key members”. Neil Davies, Frank Prior, Sarah Passemard and Rachel Osgood are all named and Huw Miles, who heads up the team, is singled out as a “leading individual”.

Joining them in the top ranks is our employment team who have a “broad expertise” with Clive Dobbin and David Roath being described as “always approachable and ready with the right advice”.

For the first time, our corporate restructuring and insolvency team have three individuals mentioned; Mike Pavitt is “the first port of call for anything with a cross-border issue”, Clive Thomson is a “trusted adviser and commercially aware” and Richard Atcherley is “building a strong reputation for non-contentious work”.

On the commercial side, our “high-quality” banking and finance team is lead by the “thorough, proactive” James McNeil, with Stuart Allen being “particularly active in real estate finance”. We are recognised for our “capacity for handling large, cross-border transactions” in our corporate/commercial team, with members Michael Moore, Sean Davies, Crispin Dick (who has “impressive City experience”) and Jonathan Roy (with M&A expertise) mentioned. Our commercial litigation department is noted as having had an “impressive year” and our licensing and intellectual property teams continue to be recognised also.

The commercial property team continues to impress with John Mansell and Peter Gammie being mentioned along with Mark Howarth who also wins the “leading individual” accolade. Our planning team is also recognised.

For our private clients, our tax and estates team are recognised as having “specialist expertise”, with Nick Turner, David Bird and consultant Crispin Jameson being names to note.

Peter Taylor, Paris Smith’s managing partner commented “We are extremely proud that our expertise and range of skills have been endorsed in such a positive way. I would like to send a huge thank you to all our staff without whom such recognition would not be possible and also to our clients, peers and contacts for saying such encouraging things about us.”
