The Family team at Paris Smith is ranked number one in the region by both Chambers and the Legal 500 and we are now looking to recruit a 0 to 2 year PQE Solicitor to join in and continue that success.

The Role

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a partner dealing with all aspects of family law; including high net worth matrimonial finance and complex private law children matters.

The quality of the work enjoyed by this partner requires exceptional levels of client care, case management, organisation and initiative. We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the potential to understand not only the detail; but also, to develop their strategic skills.

This is a challenging role but one which offers the chance to work with a close knit and supportive team of people who excel in their field.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have specialised post qualification in family law with experience that will include advising clients on matters relating to:

divorce and separation;
the sharing of high value or complex financial resources following divorce or separation;
cohabitation; and
children (private law).

They will also have practical experience of drafting (including petitions, applications, forms E, questionnaires, court orders and briefs to counsel) and advocacy.

Accordingly, the successful candidate must be a team player, and possess the following attributes:

Strong technical ability
Exceptional client care skill
The ability to communicate complex law, scenarios and solutions in simple and clear way verbally and in writing
Be organised and a good time manager
The ability to think strategically and focus on outcome rather than just process
Confidence
A commercial mindset
