Charity Forum

The aim of the Charity Forum is to champion the free exchange of information and ideas between chief executives and trustees of charities, Paris Smith and a select team of professionals with experience in the sector.

If you would like to become a member of the Charity Forum please either complete the on-line registration form or email Sandy Waters.

Membership of the Forum includes access to the following:

The Forums are hosted by Paris Smith and comprise short presentations and open discussions, with the main thrust focusing on the latter.  To facilitate the discussion and add value the Forums are also attended by a panel of professionals, the constitution of which is guided by the prevailing feedback of the participants.  The Forums provide the opportunity for chief executives and trustees to meet and exchange ideas and experiences with their peers and the professionals.

Travelling Forums are on the same basis but hosted in their locality by and at the request of a member or group of members to consider issues with the legal, accountancy, banking or property sectors of interest to them.

With the newsletter we propose to disseminate articles on noteworthy and topical issues.

The Charity Forum is a promising initiative with the potential to increase self-reliance and resilience among charity trustees in the south of England.  I would recommend all trustees in the region consider how their charities may benefit from taking part in the Forum and wish the project every success.

- Sam Younger, Chief Executive, The Charity Commission

“The Paris Smith Charity Forum chimes with at least three priorities we have set ourselves in government.”

- Nick Hurd MP

Congratulations on the success of the Paris Smith Charity Forum Annual Conference in November. It was a pleasure to speak to such a diverse and engaged audience and to announce our fundraising training around Local Charities Day.

The Paris Smith Charity Forum chimes with priorities that I highlighted of a sector that has the public’s confidence. I wish the Forum on going success in encouraging a more independent, self-regulating and sustainable charity and social enterprise sector.

- Rob Wilson MP

Minister for Civil Society
