This brings the number of civil mediators at the firm to four, which combined with the firm’s family mediation service, makes it a significant players in mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in the region.

The process involved attendance at a three day mediation training course in London, two days of assessment by experienced accredited mediators, written assessments and observing two mediations. Peter, the head of dispute resolution with the firm, has been an enthusiastic advocate of mediation since the new procedures were originally formulated.

Commenting on his achievement, Peter said: “Civil mediation is a successful and low cost alternative to using the courts in a diverse range of cases, and, nowadays, it is something that every party has to consider from the outset of the case. If nothing else, the success rates make it an absolute must.”

Managing partner, Andrew Heathcock congratulated Peter on his success, adding: “Peter has studied hard and his achievement is well deserved. He has for a long time been a passionate advocate of mediation, and now, he too, can offer civil mediation to clients and referrers alike.”

To coincide with Peter’s qualification and to showcase what a live mediation is all about, the firm’s Business Club is running an event at The Goodwood Hotel on 08 May 2014 and is open to new members. More details can be found here
