Solicitor Apprentice Programme

Please note applications for 2024 have now closed. We will update this website when applications open again for the scheme.

Are you looking to begin a career in law? If you are a school or college leaver, or perhaps considering a change in your career, then the Solicitor Apprentice programme at Paris Smith may be suitable for you.

This alternative route into law provides on-the-job experience as well as the opportunity to earn a salary earlier than during the ‘traditional’ route.

How does it work?

This 6-year training programme will lead to a law degree, as well as the necessary qualifications to become a solicitor. The working week is split, 20% studying towards your qualification and 80% working within the Firm to gain valuable experience.

What might a typical day look like?

The Solicitor Apprentice will form an important part of the team and may be asked to assist with both legal and non-legal tasks in order to service clients’ needs. These could include administration tasks, undertaking legal research and drafting, providing legal advice and guidance, and attending meetings.

Entry requirements?

Applicants must have at least 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) at Grade C or Level 4 and above as well as 3 A-Levels at A level points as a minimum of 120 (equivalent of 3 Bs) or above. Applicants cannot be currently qualified in the legal field at Level 6 or above.
