Children Law

If you have children, then nothing will be more important to you than protecting them and putting them first. However we know that sometimes, as parents, it can be difficult to agree what is best.

Every family is unique, so our experts in children law can advise you on the best approach you can take for you and your child, with your children’s welfare at the forefront of our minds. Our advice is always constructive, adopting a child-focussed approach in every case.

Our advice on children law matters

Our expert lawyers can guide you through the legal process on all private children matters such as:

  • arrangements for your children, including advice on where a child should live, go to school and the surname they should be known by;
  • arrangements when a parent moves away, either in the UK or abroad, and would like to take a child with them;
  • guidance and help when there are concerns about the welfare or safety of a child;
  • help understanding parental responsibility and what that means in practice;
  • child maintenance agreements; and
  • grandparents’ rights.

How we have helped people with children related issues

In addition to assisting clients to put in place arrangements for when they see their children, we have also assisted clients to secure permission from the court to move abroad, with their children, to countries as close as Scotland and as far away as Australia.

We have also assisted clients to obtain permission from the court that their child attend schools at which the other parent did not wish them to go.

How we’ve helped our clients

“From start to finish, Zoe has been so informative and invaluable to us. With Zoe’s guidance, knowledge and understanding we were able to keep our focus on the matter at hand and settle at the first court hearing. We are so very grateful. ”
