Paris Smith staff complete 3,000 push up challenge for charity of the year
Mike Pavitt, partner at Paris Smith, supported by colleague Chris Parsons has completed a 3,000 push up challenge to raise money for the firm’s named charity of the year, Ben Pavitt’s Legacy of Love Fund.
Ben Pavitt’s Legacy of Love Fund (a Special Named Fund with the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group) was overwhelmingly chosen by staff to be the firm’s charity partner for 2022-23 alongside the British Red Cross: DEC Ukraine Emergency Appeal.
Mike completed his 3,000 push ups on 30 May, finishing the challenge in Southampton outside the firm’s London Road office.
Mike Pavitt, on behalf of Ben Pavitt’s Legacy of Love Fund:
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the generous donations throughout our challenge. It felt right to take on something physically demanding in my fundraising efforts as the fund was set up to remember a young man, my son, who died without ever once backing away from the hardest challenges life can throw at us. It’s not been easy as I’ve had to push through injury – so, on a much smaller scale obviously, it’s felt like a real testament to Ben’s bravery in facing down childhood cancer.
We have lots more fundraising projects coming up this year – everything from bake sales to charity dinners and sponsoring theatrical performances. It’s an exciting time for the Fund and I’m so grateful for the support of Paris Smith and their staff.”
Total fundraising in Ben Pavitt’s name for all causes, raised during his lifetime and following his death in October 2021, including Gift Aid, has now passed £70,000.
