We are looking for a talented Paralegal to join our Plot Sales team in Southampton. The role is working in our Property department, that is recognised as an “outstanding property team” and a leader in the south of England. Our property lawyers have a well-earned reputation for providing sound and pragmatic legal advice across all property matters.

The Candidate:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisation skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and to manage own high-volume caseload
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent IT and keyboard skills
  • The ability to work well, sometimes under pressure, to tight deadlines
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Previous residential conveyancing or Plot Sales experience is essential

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pre- Exchange including:
    • Preparing contract packs to send out to buyer’s solicitors;
    • Dealing with enquiries;
    • Maintain a set of precedent replies to enquiries on each development
    • Liaise with the Developer Client’s representative at all times to keep them updated
  • Exchange of Contracts (under supervision) including:
    • Liaising with client with regard to completion dates
    • Notifying client when exchange takes place
    • Notifying any selling agent that exchange has taken place
    • Notifying any lender that exchange has taken place
    • Producing completion statements for the buyer and the client
  • Completing the matter including:
    • Liaising with the Lender as to their completion requirements
    • Ensuring the relevant documentation is sent to the client to sign
    • Ensuring all relevant documentation is sent to the Buyer confirming the property is ready for completion and documentation for signature
    • Confirming completion to the Selling Agent and settling their commission
  • File Closure procedures
