Paris Smith is looking for a Property Litigation Solicitor (2–5 years PQE) to join our growing Dispute Resolution team in Southampton or Bournemouth. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied caseload within a collaborative and supportive team, with strong prospects for career development.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated Solicitor or CILEX to join our expanding Property Litigation team on a full-time basis, although part-time may be considered. The successful candidate will have proven experience managing a varied property litigation and wider commercial disputes caseload.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team consisting of two partners, a senior associate, two solicitors, a paralegal and a secretary, with further work from the wider Dispute Resolution team. You will be joining a busy and friendly team that works collaboratively on a varied caseload covering the full breadth of property litigation services.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage your own caseload of property litigation matters, acting for developers, retail chains, commercial property owners, agents, residential landlords and private individuals
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team on larger matters
  • Carry out marketing and business development activities as appropriate
  • Provide a high-quality legal service to clients
  • Advise on legal procedures and a wide range of associated issues
  • Act professionally and to the highest standards of the profession
  • Comply with procedures set out in the Office Manual, professional standards and any requirements set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority
  • Carry out duties given by partners or colleagues faithfully and diligently, following all reasonable instructions
  • Keep up to date with changes in the law

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following attributes:

  • 2–5 years’ PQE, although candidates with less experience may be considered
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Drive and enthusiasm
  • A client-focused approach
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet key deadlines
  • High attention to detail
  • Willingness to take ownership and be accountable for own work
  • IT literate, with experience using legal software, Word and document management systems
  • An interest in artificial intelligence and how it can support legal services
  • A strong team player who works collaboratively
  • Willingness to learn and stay up to date with changes in the law
  • Experience in property litigation, with the ability to manage your own caseload and support colleagues where needed. Knowledge of collective enfranchisement and/or telecoms would be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel to other offices when required, including Winchester
