While many were looking forward to a sunny bank holiday weekend, it was an early start for the Paris Smith sponsored team of runners at the start of 540 miles this morning from Winchester Guildhall to twin town Giessen in Germany supporting Winchester Hospice.

Running across 5 countries in 8 days, the team will be supported by the mayors of Winchester and Giessen who will launch the first leg and welcome them at the finish.

Talking about Paris Smith’s involvement, our Partner Stuart Allen said; “We are delighted to have been asked by our developer client Millgate, based in Winchester, to be a sponsor for their charitable run from Winchester to its twin town in Germany, Giessen with funds raised going to Winchester Hospice, one of our chosen charities as a firm for 2019. The running squad will return the baton to the town of Giessen, running 540 miles to do so over the course of a week, the baton having made the reverse journey from Giessen to Winchester last year. Wearing the shirt for Paris Smith over the first 10km to send them on their way, following a 7am send off by the Mayor of Winchester wishing all well and good luck, was our own Olu Jatto (pictured above). We wish all well with the big challenge and in raising funds for the hospice.”

The run will aim to promote good relations between the two towns, get running groups in Winchester together, and of course raise money for Winchester Hospice.
