Solicitor - Employment

My experience

I am a solicitor in the Employment department, having qualified in October 2021 after completing my training contract with Paris Smith.

Employment Law

I advise on both contentious and non-contentious areas of employment law and have experience in advising both employees and employers on a range of matters. This includes advising on:

  • workplace disputes;
  • settlement agreements; and
  • employment tribunal representation.

I am also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and have taken part in its Working Party Consultation to review and comment on the Government’s proposals to replace the Human Rights Act 1998 with a domestic Bill of Rights, with a particular focus on the effect these proposals will have on employment.

I featured on GB News on 15 July 2022 to discuss the Court of Appeal judgement in the case of Tesco Ltd v USDAW and ors which was to be handed down later that day. I reviewed the previous High Court decision which led to the appeal and also the wider background and controversy surrounding the practice of fire and rehire.

You can watch the relevant segment from the Show here.

Immigration Law

I also advise individuals on their personal immigration situation and visa applications, in particular:

  • spouse, partner and dependent applications to come to the UK or extend their right to be in the UK;
  • applications for indefinite leave to remain in the UK; and
  • applications to naturalise as a British citizen and gain a British passport.

Alongside my role, I am also a trustee and non-executive director of a multi-academy trust in which the decisions of the Board are made for the benefit of pupils and their education, teachers, and the wider community.
